More languages. More ways to capture.
Here's how to set it all up.
This update brings dedicated Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa transcription, support for meetings that switch language, translation into 20 languages, a Chrome meeting recorder, and an app that speaks your language. Each feature below has a short guide.
Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa, transcribed properly
Recordings in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa now go through speech models built specifically for those languages, so tone marks, names and everyday phrases come out right. They cost the same as everything else: 1 credit a minute.
How to set it up
- Start a recording, or upload an audio or video file.
- Under Language spoken, choose Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa. If you're not sure, leave it on Auto-detect; it listens to the first 30 seconds and picks the language for you.
- Leave Identify speakers on to see who said what.
- Tap Transcribe. When it's done, tap any line to hear that moment of the recording.

Meetings that switch language
If your meeting moves between English and Yoruba, or Hausa and French, NarratifAI now notices. It works out which language each part is in and transcribes every part in the language that was spoken, using the best model for each.
How to set it up
- Leave Language spoken on Auto-detect. NarratifAI listens to the whole recording and finds every language in it.
- If you choose one language, such as Yoruba, it also watches for parts in English, the usual second language in a meeting.
- Mixing Igbo with English? Choose Igbo, so NarratifAI knows to expect it.
- Your transcript shows which language each part is in. A few English words inside a Yoruba sentence stay part of that sentence.
Translate any transcript into 20 languages
Turn a Yoruba meeting into English notes, or share an English transcript with a team in French, Arabic, Hausa and more. Speaker names and timestamps stay in place, and your original transcript is always kept.
How to set it up
- Open a finished transcript in the NarratifAI app.
- Tap Translate transcript and pick the language you want.
- Check the price shown before you confirm: 1 credit per 400 characters of transcript, at least 5 credits. A 30-minute meeting is usually around 60 credits.
- Tap Translate. Opening the same translation again later is free.
Languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, German, Hausa, Hindi, Igbo, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Turkish, Ukrainian and Yoruba.
NarratifAI Companion for Chrome
Record Google Meet, Zoom or Teams calls you join in Chrome, then bring the recording into NarratifAI. It runs on your own computer, with no meeting bot joining the call and no extra fee for recording.
Get the CompanionHow to set it up
- Add NarratifAI Companion from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it from the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar.
- Join your meeting in a Chrome tab, open the Companion and tap Open meeting recorder.
- Confirm everyone knows they're being recorded, choose the meeting tab and turn on Share tab audio.
- When the meeting ends, tap Stop & save, download the audio and upload it to NarratifAI.
Use the app in your language
The NarratifAI app now speaks English, Naijá (Pidgin), Yorùbá, Igbo, Hausa, Français, العربية, Português, Español and فارسی. Every screen and tip switches over.
How to set it up
- The first time you open the app, pick your language on the welcome screen. If your phone already uses one of these languages, it's selected for you.
- To change it later, go to Settings → App language.
Your transcripts always stay in the language that was spoken. Use translation to get them in another language.
Tips that show you around
The first time you open each screen, a short tip points out what matters: your credit balance, where to record, how to rename speakers, where minutes and exports live.
How to set it up
- Tips appear on their own the first time you visit Home, Upload, History, a transcript and Settings. Tap anywhere to move to the next one, or Skip.
- Want to see them again? Go to Settings → Help → Replay tutorials.
Safer accounts on shared devices
New accounts confirm their email address before they start, and transcripts stay with the account that made them. If two people share a phone or a browser, neither sees the other's meetings.
How to set it up
- When you sign up with email, open the confirmation email from NarratifAI and follow it to confirm your address.
- Back in the app, tap I've confirmed my email to continue. Signing in with Google or Apple skips this step.
- Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and follow the link in the email to choose a new one.
Built for tablets too
On iPad and Android tablets, NarratifAI now keeps everything in a comfortable reading width with larger text, instead of stretching small across the screen.
How to set it up
- Nothing to set up. Install or update the app on your tablet and sign in.
